Photo : At the Carnival

I was recently visiting family and friends in Indiana and spent an evening photographing our local 4th of July festival with a friend. The festival itself is not as large or family-friendly as either of us recall from our childhoods, but there were still some great photo opportunities.

Photo : Bunch of Bertoias

Since I'm heading to New York City this evening I've got museums on the brain, even though I probably won't visit any on this trip. I've always loved these simple wire chairs by Harry Bertoia, especially when they cast shadows like these.

Photo : MoMA Couryard

I was expecting the courtyard to be in focus rather than the edges but it definitely made for a more interesting photo this way.

Photo : Fajada Butte

I've arrived home from New Mexico and my film is at the lab getting developed. Hopefully I'll have some new shots to share next week. For now, here's a shot from another part of New Mexico from a previous trip.

I'm flying out tomorrow morning for a five day circle tour of New Mexico including stops at The Lightning Field, Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument, and White Sands National Monument. I'll be back next week with some new stories with new photos to follow shortly thereafter.

Spring is finally thawing central New York and mom-and-pop amusement parks like Sylvan Lake Beach Park will be opening for the summer in no time.

Photo : Coronado's Ship

This weekend I'm leaving for a trip out to southern California to relax and see friends. Of course, I'll have my cameras with me too. This trip I'll be hitting Las Vegas to see the City Center development, Death Valley National Park for a couple of days, and of course a stint or two at Disneyland. It will be a welcome respite from the grey skies of central New York.

Photo : Las Vegas Crystals

I'm back from my week out west and working hard towards finishing my graduate degree. I managed to scan a few photos that I got processed earlier this week, one of which comes from architect Daniel Libeskind's Crystals shopping complex, part of the City Center development.

Photo : Hollyhock House

I'm enjoying the sun and company out in California this week. It will be a little while before I can develop and scan the photos I took on this trip, but for now here's a photo I took last year at Frank Lloyd Wright's Hollyhock House in Barnsdall Art Park.
