I was recently visiting family and friends in Indiana and spent an evening photographing our local 4th of July festival with a friend. The festival itself is not as large or family-friendly as either of us recall from our childhoods, but there were still some great photo opportunities.
I was expecting the courtyard to be in focus rather than the edges but it definitely made for a more interesting photo this way.
I'm flying out tomorrow morning for a five day circle tour of New Mexico including stops at The Lightning Field, Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument, and White Sands National Monument. I'll be back next week with some new stories with new photos to follow shortly thereafter.
I'm back from my week out west and working hard towards finishing my graduate degree. I managed to scan a few photos that I got processed earlier this week, one of which comes from architect Daniel Libeskind's Crystals shopping complex, part of the City Center development.
Disneyland is a treasure trove of photo opportunities but I didn't have much time to spend there on this trip. Next time - next time.
Here are two shots from the Horizon Kompakt from Los Angeles. It really is hard to take a bad photograph of the Walt Disney Concert Hall, but I was still pleased with the results.
Over the holidays I purchased a Horizon Kompakt. The Kompakt is a film camera that takes panoramic photos through the use of a swiveling lens. I've only put three rolls of film through it thus far, but I ended up with a few good shots from a recent trip to California. Below are two examples from San Francisco. Over the next couple of weeks I'll upload some shots from downtown Los Angeles and Disneyland.
