Best of 2009 Travel: Part 5 of 10 - Las Vegas Neon Boneyard

Neon Boneyard - Las Vegas, Nevada

Beyond the bright lights and oversize drinks of the Las Vegas strip is a museum dedicated to the signs of Las Vegas past. Filled to the brim with larger than life letters and signs, the Neon Boneyard is an opportunity to get a Las Vegas history lesson as well as see some of Sin City’s most famous artifacts. Though the Boneyard is more or less a disorganized dumping ground for light-up paraphenalia it’s a rare opportunity to see behind the curtain of Sin City and see the Las Vegas from whence today’s mega-tourism destination was born.
